Artistic transformations and the search for universal truth
Rebecca Gischel, born in 1989 in Moosburg, Germany, has lived and worked in Munich since 2015. Her journey into the world of art began far away from the urban scene - in the solitude of the Scottish Highlands. While hiking alone through untouched nature for five weeks, Rebecca had a transformative spiritual experience that permanently changed her rational worldview and connected her deeply with the mysteries of our existence.
These experiences became a turning point in her life. Until the beginning of 2023, Rebecca worked as a freelancer in the IT industry to secure herself financially and at the same time finance her art. However, the alienation she felt in the digital and performance-oriented world led to a deep inner crisis from which she freed herself by deciding to devote herself entirely to art.
Rebecca's artistic process is characterized by nights of trance-like creation. She prefers to paint during the night, when she immerses herself in a state of deliberate loss of control. Her works, mainly oil on canvas, are created using multi-layered techniques that she carries out with a palette knife and brush. These layers develop over several nights and give her pictures a distinctive depth.
Rebecca's art is an emotionally demanding process in which she delves deep into the inner worlds of the human soul. She believes that at the core of every human being is an infinite source of creative power and connectedness. Her paintings reflect this conviction and offer a space to open up to the great mystery of our existence and to recognize the value of our own being.
Her work is gaining increasing recognition and is being exhibited internationally, including at renowned art festivals such as Ars Electronica in Austria and Light Aurora in the USA. Her paintings are also enjoying growing popularity, which she sells mainly via social media and in a small gallery in Munich-Schwabing.
Rebecca's life and creative path is an impressive example of how profound personal experiences and a return to artistic intuition can not only lead to a successful career, but can also show other people paths to self-reflection and inner healing.
